Junior Account Executive
We're searching for a JAE to support across 10+ interiors and design accounts in a Bristol-based start-up. This would be ideal for a recent graduate looking for their first experience in PR, or someone with a small amount of experience under their belt looking to build up their CV. You’ll be getting stuck into all the crucial parts of running a busy press office from day one, including writing press releases, pitching to journalists, responding to queries and liaising with clients.
We're looking for someone who’s friendly, enthusiastic and gets on well with people. A large part of this job involves liaising with journalists, so a likeable personality is essential. You’ll also need to be a self-starter with a mature approach to work - someone who is always searching for ways improve our service and further their career, rather than someone who needs to be monitored and spoon-fed tasks.
In return, the opportunities for promotion are excellent: the right candidate could absolutely move up to managing their own portfolio of clients and/or training and managing other staff members within a relatively short space of time. This company is new and expanding quickly, so joining early could see you progress rapidly into a senior position - which looks excellent on your CV and gives you great skills to take on to the next step in your career.
Any previous work in PR or journalism – especially in the interiors or lifestyle sectors – would be helpful, but isn’t necessary. We're much more interested in finding someone with the enthusiasm and work ethic to really excel in this role.
The start date is flexible but would ideally be sometime in October.
Salary: £17,000 pa.
Writing press releases around new product launches and seasonal trends
Pitching stories and products to relevant journalists
Responding to journalist requests for images and information
Updating activity spreadsheets for client reports
General press office admin such as maintaining journalist lists and checking publications for client coverage

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED
A disciplined and mature approach to work
An impeccable grasp of written and spoken English
Excellent writing skills - you'll need to write creative, engaging copy for pitches and press releases
Attention to detail and pride in your work, including careful proofreading of all emails and written documents
A professional and likeable manner is essential, as you'll be dealing directly with journalists and clients as a representative of the company
